Wow! We can’t believe it’s already 2011. Where has the time gone? Well, it’s time to look back at 2010 and reflect on the things you have accomplished. We all spent so much time dwelling on the things that we wished we had done. There is a quote that reads "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards” by Soren Kierkgaard. This means that we learn from our past experiences and take these lessons forward to the future. Everything we do in life has meaning and purpose.
Right now is the perfect time to set your goals for the next 12 months. Take a few minutes to sit down in a quiet room and make a list of all the things you didn’t do last year but still want to accomplish this year, and then prioritize each item with the number one priority at the top of the list (whether it’s planning a vacation, redecorating your home, paying off some debts, buying braces, or moving to a new neighbourhood) write it all down on paper. Then go ahead and add a deadline date next to each item on your list. Post this list on a wall where you will see it every morning and every night and review each item on the list daily. You will see as you progress through the year, you will remain focused on what you want to accomplish…and by some miraculous way, it works!
So don’t worry about the things that didn’t get done…they probably didn’t matter that much anyway. Move forward and make 2011 your best year ever!
